Marketing In The Age Of Google

Forget the computer age or the Internet age, centuries from now our current time it is likely that as a Google age. This assumption is not exactly a leap of faith; Google has quickly permeated into the mainstream culture of an underlying factor of daily life, a densely woven backdrop for our lives. But never make the mistake of trying to define Google as a search engine or you miss the true calling this small "Backrub", which was the original name of its founder, Larry Page and Sergey Brin in 1996. Google as we now know that it debuted in 1998. The name Google is a variant of the word googol, a number represented as a 1 followed by 100 zeros. After everything said and done, it will more than likely refer to the Google-wealthy - monetary or otherwise.

But forget search engine, regardless of the founders intentions or corporate objectives, Google is and has always been the ultimate marketing machine. A massive marketing machine is just that now fit and strives for more and more Lofty heights. These levels seem to rise every day like Google quietly rolls from program to program.

All noble ambitions aside, Google is the perfect marketing machine. Google has not, and it is very close to a stranglehold on the real power behind all marketing, is information. Marketing is information. Information is marketing. Great marketing delivers the right information at the right time. Google more than any other company on the web pages or in the world, for that matter, meets this criterion in its core. Google is again writing the book on how products are marketed.

Google now has more than 60% of searches in the United States, with a staggering 7.3 billion search queries per month. In some countries of the search technology of Google stock is 80% or more. (Source: comScore) These webmasters have several offers a key word in all three of the largest search engine Google know, is the only game worth playing, because it delivers by far the most traffic.

While MSN and Yahoo! are still key players and are in the top-5-traffic sites on the Internet, what most people do not know is that (unlike the other two) nearly all of Google's search traffic transport. > From a marketing perspective, this is extremely important because queries can deliver the highest conversions (sales), particularly because it lets you capture the potential customers or clients, if they are in the right setting for sale or to perform an action . Obviously the key to a successful marketing is to find the buyers and customers for your products and services. Google has forged itself as the ultimate "middle man", as more and more of the world's business is in cyberspace. And as everyone knows the "middle man" can draw huge profits and hold enormous power.

Google, within its AdSense program, now offers CPA or cost-per-action, where marketers can now receive greater returns for the display of the Google links on their websites. Like any professional marketers will tell you, you can 10 times the revenue by promoting affiliate products instead of the AdSense code on their sites. But by adding the CPA and other affiliate products within the AdSense program, Google has it attractive to serious online marketers.

Another step in this direction is the Google acquisition of DoubleClick, including the massive online affiliate marketing network Performics. This means Google can now bring each customer a full circle of the first search for the fund.

This may have disastrous consequences for the large, lucrative third-party affiliate networks such as Commission Junction and LinkShare. Online marketing and e-commerce is growing at a blistering, and the company that controls the majority of these transactions are enormous power. When the Medicis look like paupers.

These marketers, have managed to acquire a number of their offers targeted keywords in Google search and smiling all the way to the bank. Especially because Google commands enormous confidence with the surfing / purchase public and this is reflected in higher conversion rates. Those who dominate the AdSense and AdWords program, Google know, is an excellent source of online income.

Most of the complaints against Google derives from its PageRank system, as a Google version of the online democracy in action, a link is a vote for your site or content. The higher the number of links, the higher your page will rank in Google's index or SERPS - Search engine results pages.

So far, Google has played fair, so that even the smallest webmasters the opportunity to capture top Google listings, if they produce superior or popular content to surfers. Some would even argue that Google's recent crackdown on Internet sites offering paid links can be used as the evening playing field for small webmaster or marketer, obviously do not have the economic clout or resources to buy their way to the top of the Google listing.

Keyword rankings, the ultimate equalizer and Determiner of online wealth. Those who reach the top positions for their elected profitable niche keywords, companies and service providers lining up to do business with them. The fallout can prove extremely lucrative for both parties.

However, only a few marketers reach webmaster or forgotten, is really holds the cards; Google controls all steps in this marketing tunnel with its Search Listings, AdWords and AdSense programs. The only dark spot on the horizon could monopoly issues, but probably Google has enough reserves, public goodwill and corporate pockets deep enough to squash claims. How Google's dominance in the search market gets bigger, Google will take control of all segments of the online marketplace. Why should Google stop there, why not in radio, TV ... such as the Internet gradually mutates into a billion + interactive TV channel universe (as many believe it will), do you think the central controller offers a free remote control?

Then there are Google planned broadband-700 MHz takeover bid, one can only speculate on Google's intentions. But Google must find a way to transmit their information at no cost to its users. Could it mean free wireless Internet for all the free Google Gadgets boxes or in any form, available and accessible anywhere in the world? Everything is possible because the stakes are so astronomical and the marketing of so much revenue, Google has its information seamlessly and immediately to the end user at any price.

One can only guess at the enormity of the marketing power of Google will return in the coming years as the Internet slips from their teenage years. But it will not only marketing, the impact of Google on all aspects of our lives is likely to grow exponentially, and that influence will be huge.

For the true power of Google is just now beginning to saw only as more and more from the Google pieces fall into place do we really understand what life is like in the Google age. Google's power, reverence and respect will undoubtedly so enormous it can make some comparisons to a higher power has led that most life on this planet before. Which could also lead to a muse, at least she got the first two letters are correct.
